Introduction
The Texas Sex Offender Registration
Law was created and passed in 1991 during the Regular Texas Legislative
Session. The law became effective on September 1, 1991. It has since been
amended by the 1993, 1995, 1997, 1999, and the 2001 Regular Sessions of the
Texas Legislature.
In an effort to protect the citizens
of Sweeny, we want to ensure that the offenders are providing accurate and
up-to-date information regarding registration, verification, and update
processes. If information on any of the below listed sex offenders is not
accurate, or if any person has reason to believe that a non-compliance
incident has occurred, please contact Officer Chad Makara (Sex Offender
Registrar) of the Sweeny Police Department. Information may be provided
anonymously.

Risk Levels
Each sex offender is
assigned a risk level by the State of Texas based on numerous
criteria in order to determine statistical re-offending
behavior and characteristics:

High: the
person poses a serious danger to the community and will
continue to engage in criminal sexual conduct.
-
Moderate: the
person poses a moderate danger to the community and may
continue to engage in criminal sexual conduct.
-
Low: the
person poses a low danger to the community and will not
likely engage in criminal sexual conduct.

Sex Offender Residency Ordinance, No.
103-06
EFFECTIVE 04-25-2006:
The City of Sweeny adopted a city ordinance regulating the residency
of convicted sex offenders within the City of Sweeny. Sex
offenders are prohibited from living within 1000 feet of Child
Safety Zones. Child Safety Zones are defined as any areas
where children are likely to congregate, including, but not limited
to, schools, parks, playgrounds, day care facilities, public
swimming pools, public or private youth centers, and video arcade
facilities. There are a number of exceptions to this

are EIGHT sex offenders living inside the City of Sweeny. The
information provided on each sex offender below is accurate as of the last
date of the offender's registration/update with the Sweeny Police
Department. Offenders previously listed here may have been removed as
a result of incarceration or they may have moved out of the area.
