Vehicle Crashes into Sweeny Washateria

On Tuesday, October 4, 2005, at approximately 6:00 p.m., patrons at the Sweeny Washateria, in the 600 block of N. Main Street, received quite a surprise when a vehicle crashed through the front of the building.

The vehicle, a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck, was driven by Sweeny resident William Ryan.  Ryan was uninjured but his vehicle was towed due to the damage.

Ryan told police he was driving north on Main Street when he reached down to get his cell phone.  He took his eyes off the road momentarily, lost control, and crashed into the building.
