NewsHouse Fire Ruled Arson on Earley Street04-08-2006: On early Saturday morning, April 8, 2006, a house in the 1100 block of Earley Street caught fire. The fire engulfed the house before it was extinguished by Sweeny Fire & Rescue. The house was lived in but unoccupied at the time of the fire. No one was injured or killed in the fire.
The subsequent police/fire investigation ruled the fire had been started intentionally, and therefore was ruled an arson by the fire marshal's office.
The Sweeny Police Department, the Sweeny Fire Marshall's Office, and the State Fire Marshall's Office are investigating.
